The Nine Point Code of Conduct
SOULS members are expected to do their best to practice the Nine-Point Code of Conduct as laid down by Sathya Sai Baba to enhance individual’s spiritual awareness and growth.
- Practice daily meditation and prayer
- Participate in Devotional singing with members of the family once a week.
- Participate in Sai Education program for children of the family.
- Participate in community work and other programs of the Sai organization.
- Attend Center devotional meetings regularly.
- Study Sai literature regularly.
- Speak softly and lovingly to everyone.
- Do not indulge in speaking ill of others, especially in their absence.
- Practice ceiling on desires—consciously and continuously striving to eliminate the tendency to waste time, money, food and energy – and utilizing the savings for service of mankind.
Discipline is a pre-requisite to Devotion.

Members observe the following practices
- Devotees are requested to dress modestly.
- Devotees are requested not to engage in small talk after the meetings, as it dissipates any spiritual benefit one may have received.
- Men and women are required to sit separately.
- Children are requested to be silent and not disturb others during the meetings & devotional singing. Parents are responsible for the behavior of their children.
